After years of intensive research, countless hours in the lab and countless cups of coffee, the time had finally come on 31 March 2025: Patrick Guggenberger successfully completed his defence and was officially awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
With his dissertation on the topic: High Surface Area Noble Metal-Free Electrocatalysts for the Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER), he not only made a significant scientific contribution, but also showed how much commitment, perseverance and passion he put into his work. The defence marked the culmination of a challenging academic journey - and was, as expected, a complete success.
